Graduation

Yep, all that hard work paid off and I walked the stage on Friday with friends and family watching. I can now count myself among thousands of other MBAs before me. And no, I don't mean "married but available" as some have taken it to mean! The ceremony was a little too long and a little uneventful, but a proud time nonetheless. To top it all off, both my and B's parents were there and had a chance to meet. It was a good good weekend.

Disorientation

The week leading up to graduation was filled with boozy activities to give us all one last chance to create memories of our two years together. Although I didn't participate in every event, I still had a busy week. In addition to packing up and preparing for graduation (and all the related guests), I took part in the following:

Graduation banquet
Everyone looked sassy in their cocktail attire for our final sit-down dinner at the alumni center with speeches from professors, the dean, and fellow students followed by an after-party at Annie's West.

Party barge on Lake Travis
It was a beautiful day to be on "The Ark" but after nearly 6 hours I was ready to get home. 4 hours trapped on a boat with nothing but friends, tunes, and booze can never amount to anything good.

Ferris Bueller quote-along at Alamo Drafthouse
I won my ticket to this during the annual legacy campaign so it was nice to not have to pay for an event. Alamo Drafthouse is always fun for me. Movies, food, and drink = fun.

Salt Lick BBQ
We ended the same way we began -- with BBQ from the Salt Lick out in Driftwood, TX. Definitely not my favorite BBQ but a fun place and it was cool to meet people's families and enjoy one last evening together before graduation. Afterward, B and I headed back to Alamo Drafthouse for the 90s One Hit Wonder Sing Along. That was super fun!

We did it!

I got a lot done in the last 10 days despite not having a TV nor internet. Hah!

Last final submitted a day early! So I completed the very very very last thing I needed to finish up my MBA. Now all I'm doing is waiting to see if I passed. :) Regardless, I plan to do the graduation "walk" on Friday. Wow, hard to believe two years has passed.

The other big update? We found an apartment! It may not be the ideal place, but it'll work and it is very central to everything.

I had a great time in NYC this past week and loved being able to take care of some stuff so that I could enjoy my time with B. More NYC fun updates to come...

Progress: Part III

Paper 1: Done!
Paper 2: Done!
Paper 3: Topic chosen, still nothing else.

Exam 1: Done!

Tomorrow I leave for NYC finally. I'm so ready to see B and be normal again! I'll be spending all day Friday looking at apartments and if we don't find something then it's onto plan B although I'm not quite sure that plan exists yet. Hopefully we find something though, and then I can finish the last paper hanging over my head, and then enjoy the rest of the week in NYC. Hurray!!

Progress

Paper 1: 9 pages down, 6 more to go. Yay!
Paper 2: Read the case, took mental notes.
Paper 3: Topic chosen, nothing else.

Exam 1: A joke, studying will happen the night before.

Moving update: Went to storage today to get documents and empty boxes. Don't plan to return until B gets here, but at least checked another thing off the list. Moving van reserved. All plane tickets purchased. Reference letter requested. Check, check, and check.
