I will survive

Finding a place to live in NYC is like going through the 5 stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally, acceptance.
  • Denial (this isn't happening to me!)
  • Anger (why is this happening to me?)
  • Bargaining (I promise I'll be a better person if...)
  • Depression (I don't care anymore)
  • Acceptance (I'm ready for whatever comes)
I think I'm entering the depression stage -- I'm not really depressed, but I really don't care anymore. It's too stressful for both of us and I feel bad that I can only do so much from 1,700 miles away. B is probably still in the bargaining stage, but I suspect he'll move into depression pretty quickly after a few more apartment visits. We're both ready to find a place and be done with the shadiness of NYC real estate!

If we get through the apartment hunting process it'll be a miracle!!!
